Gurunam Kirtan Workshop & Concert

Sacred Chant Workshop & Live Kirtan.jpg

Gurunam Singh’s musical influences range from gospel, folk, and country to classical Indian raag and from traditional Sikh hymns to devotional Hindu chants. His music is deep, heartfelt and accessible to all.

In Gurunam’s teen years he started having powerful experiences when praying. At age 18 Gurunam Singh was gifted a guitar and began composing simple songs, some personal, some devotional. At 22 he discovered Yogi Bhajan and the Sikh Dharma. When faced with difficult times, the teachings of Yogi Bhajan gave him a home; a way to balance himself. They also gave him Sadhana (daily spiritual practice), which has been an immensely powerful force in his life. Gurunam quickly became involved in sacred chant music and soon began leading chants in the pre-dawn early morning ambrosial hours. He spent long periods of time in the solitude of his own home, and was often to be found in the Sikh temple late at night, chanting to God and writing arrangements for devotional songs. Chanting the Sacred brings Gurunam to a blissful, calm state of mind.

Gurunam Singh is a poet, mantra artist, and workshop facilitator. He tours both nationally and internationally, leading Kirtans and Yatras in India every year. He has several CD’s, some of which can be found on the Spirit Voyage label. He has studied with some great ragis such as Bhai Avtar Singh and Ustaad Narinder Singh Ji, both from India, and Dya Singh from Australia.

We are so blessed to have Gurunam visit us in Bozeman for two events, a Sacred Chant Workshop and a Live Kirtan Concert at Your Yoga on September 30, 2017!  Please join us!

Sacred Chant Workshop, 4-6 pm
Using Naad Yoga, The Yoga of Sound, and live music with Gurunam Singh, we will explore techniques to bring the mind and body into a state of calm and balance. There will be a minimal amount of yoga and pranayam at the start of the class followed by lots of chanting, meditations and a deeper exploration of the chakras.

Gurunam Singh Live Kirtan: Grace of God Tour, 7-9 pm
Come chant your way to peace, bliss, balance and an open heart! Gurunam’s music heals and elevates. His humor and stories soothe the soul. Bless yourself with an evening to remember!

Crown of Eternity Returns to Bozeman!

Crown of Eternity Event Image - Gongs+Chants

with Gongs, Bells, Singing Bowls and Ecstatic Chants
May 10 (Wed) at Mountain Yoga
7:30-9:30 pm | Tickets: $30 in advance | $35 at the door (if space available)

A Vibrational Experience Like No Other!

Enter a cosmic journey as Crown of Eternity transports you into a timeless space of sonic bliss.  It is a meditation; a dream-like state; a carefully honored space of intention and attention; a deep and lasting vibrational cleansing for the body and soul; a profound journey through all levels of the self like you have never experienced before.

Crown of Eternity will envelop you in cosmic chants and bathe you in waves of sound from over 60 vibrational instruments (multiple gongs, gong oblongs, bells, sound plates, sound triangles, and Himalayan singing bowls). The sound journey experience starts by preparing your body with light breath work, chanting or meditation and settling into a cozy space to rest deeply, to be awake, to meditate, or to be amazed by the vastness of the healing sound current.  The deep complex harmonics of multiple overtone instruments quickly silence the mind and resonate through your body melting away boundaries between being awake and being asleep, between inside and outside.  The rhythmic sound oscillations facilitate the movement of prana through the body and deliver a deep energetic reboot of the nervous system.  These sacred sounds are transmitted into the tissues and experienced as a full body sound massage, realigning us on a cellular level while removing unwanted patterns or blockages, and energizing, exhilarating and lifting the spirit.  Listeners often describe out of body experiences, seeing beautiful colors behind their eyes, past life impressions, expanded awareness and higher states of consciousness.  Meditate as Crown of Eternity tone you into the deepest conscious rest, cleansing, releasing, healing and harmonizing on all levels.

PLEASE BRING a yoga mat, blanket, or cushion for your comfort during extended relaxation on the floor.

Space is limited. Advance registration strongly advised!

Crown Of Eternity spend their lives serving people through vibration, sound, music, and energy healing. Through their extensive national tours with workshops, classes, therapy sessions, concerts and retreats they have helped thousands of people connect to their life energy, to deeper relaxation and to self healing. They have performed at Sat Nam Fest, Bhakti Fest, the Kripalu Center, and hundreds of yoga studios and wellness centers throughout the United States. They have trained many budding sound therapists on the therapeutic aspects of the Gong. Over the past 20+ years Mike Tamburo has become well known as a multi-instrumentalist and polymath, performing and recording ecstatic and transcendental music as well as folk, ambient and sometimes unclassifiable sounds. He is also an artist and a film maker. As he worked deeper and deeper with the sound current and his own self healing practices, he discovered the healing power of the gong and other tuned metal instruments (singing bowls, bells, sound plates) as well as the healing power of mantra and toning. In 2008 he met Gallina Tamburo, who was on her own journey of healing. Their shared love of ecstatic music, kundalini yoga, the gong, sound therapy, and sacred chanting set the foundation of their relationship, marriage and eventual musical collaboration. In addition to completing their Kundalini Teacher Training at the mother ashram in Espanola, NM and Yoga For Youth Training with Krishna Kaur they have studied with Gongmasters Don Conreaux and Sotantar. They are also trained in the Peter Hess Method of Sound Massage using Himalayan Singing Bowls for healing. They have also studied with John Beaulieu in his Body Harmonics approach of sound healing with tuning forks.

The duo have released 6 CDs together and also run the Sounds Eternal record label that has released many of Mike’s solo recordings. Together, Mike and Gallina have developed their own style of relating to the therapeutic vibrations of the Gong, incorporating ancient wisdom and infusing it with creativity, playfulness and joy. Crown of Eternity offer a unique sonic experience that is as much grounded in tradition as it is groundbreaking. There is an expansive, blissful, ethereal and epic quality to Crown of Eternity’s music. They are truly immersed in vibration. Their CDs include Gong/Bell CDs: “Dream Architecture”, “Earth in Space” and Mantra CDs: “When the Music’s On”, “Vibrate the Cosmos” and “The Cosmos Shall Clear The Path” and Mike’s newest hammered dulcimer release “The Way To Be Free’. Whether they are bathing you in the complex harmonics of multiple gongs, ecstatic instrumentals or their cosmic renditions of sacred Kundalini Yoga mantras, Crown of Eternity delivers a heart centered experience that you will deeply appreciate and remember.  Learn more at

Blessed & Stressed: Meditations for Mamas

Motherhood can be mentally, physically, emotionally, and energetically challenging. Self-care frequently falls to the bottom of the to-do list while the laundry and dishes pile up. Caring for tiny humans is no small task and hormonal changes coupled with sleep deprivation can seriously compromise our well-being. Postpartum experiences can vary greatly, and more women than you’d think experience postpartum depression, insomnia, rage, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and/or compulsive behavior. The Kundalini Yoga & Meditation tradition offers several useful meditations to help mothers navigate the challenges of postpartum and parenting with grace and grit. Known as the “householder’s yoga,” Kundalini Yoga & Meditation is quick, powerful, and effective. In this workshop, you will learn breathing exercises and meditations to shift your consciousness in as little as three minutes and bring more balance, peace, and joy into your life and your family on a daily basis.

Calm & Clear Mamas

We all love our children with our whole hearts and want to be the best parents we can, whether we are postpartum or parenting teens.  The reality of parenting is that the job is typically more demanding than we ever imagined or prepared ourselves for.  In the busy times we live in, we often juggle more responsibilities than should and neglect to take time for ourselves to recharge and de-stress.  As a result, we can become frustrated and snappy with our partners and our children.

Years ago, I was in conversation with a group of local moms and we were discussing attachment parenting and gentle discipline.  One of the mothers said something that has stuck with me ever since.  She said something to the effect of, “All of this is great, but what about when your fight or flight response gets triggered?  Then what?”
Nobody had an answer for her.  You can read all the parenting books in the world, love your kids unconditionally, but when you get triggered, there are no guarantees you won’t say or do something that you might regret later.

It just so happens that in the Kundalini Meditation tradition, there IS an answer.  There is a specific meditation that actually helps you become less reactive and more responsive.  This powerful meditation strengthens the parasympathetic nervous system, gives endurance, and calms reactions to stress.  The best part is, you can get results in just THREE MINUTES A DAY!  For tired, overwhelmed, and busy moms, it’s a dream come true.  It’s not hard to do, and the results are undeniable.

I invite you to join Roots Family Collaborative and myself for Calm & Clear Mamas:  a 40 Day Self-Care Meditation Experience.  Commit to 3 minutes of daily self-care by practicing the very meditation that will help you become more responsive and less reactive.  When you join Calm & Clear Mamas, you’ll have access to an instructional video to support you in your daily practice as well as access to a private online forum with other participants where you can expect daily check-ins to track your progress and share your experience if you choose to do so.  Bonus yoga & meditation videos will made available to you to enhance your practice on days when you have more time.  At each Blossom Mom support group during the 40 days, I will be present to lead the meditation and answer questions to help you get the most out of your experience.  Suzanne Bendick, postpartum doula, CLC, and founder of Roots Family Collaborative, will be also available at Blossom Mom for conversation and support.

We hope you will join us.  You can sign up online at Roots Family Collaborative.  Please give me a call at (406) 595-2547 if you have any questions at all about the meditation or the experience.

Why 40 days, you might ask?  In the Kundalini Yoga & Meditation tradition, Yogi Bhajan taught that it takes 40 days to break negative habits, 90 days to establish a new habit, 120 days to confirm the new habit, and 1,000 days gives mastery over the new habit.  You are certainly welcome to continue your practice for 90, 120, or 1,000 days if you choose!

Can’t swing a 40 day commitment?  Click here for information about the upcoming Blessed & Stressed:  Meditations for Mamas Workshop.
